Jesi, who built Meet My Therapist

Hi, I'm Jesi

I've spent fifteen years in product design, ten of them in EdTech, building tools for students and teachers. I used to think I wanted to make games. What I actually wanted was to build things that help people, and that's why I stayed in education as long as I did. I'm still there.

I designed around engagement, motivation, and empathy. I like building systems, but my favorite part of the work was always the people on the other end of them.

During Covid, I lost my brother. I spent the next few years working through that loss with my therapist, and being on the receiving end of that kind of care changed the direction of my whole life. I turned my AuDHD deep-focus energy toward mental health and haven't looked back since.

At first I told myself I'd take one class, just to see if I could handle grad school on top of a full-time job without falling apart. I loved it. So I took another. Then another. This December, three years later, I'll graduate with my Master's in Counseling.

This past year, AI changed what's possible for a solo product designer. It gave me the room to build something inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed without answering to a shareholder or a private equity board. The only people I have to listen to are the people this site is for. That's how it should be.

I wanted this place to feel cozy. Slower on purpose. A little unusual, a little less corporate, calm instead of clinical, because calm was the thing I went looking for when I first needed help and couldn't find it.

I have friends who've gone through genuinely bad searches for a therapist. I built this because I want people to get closer to the care they need, without first having to already know the vocabulary. Everyone deserves that.
